Summer Ring Meet 2006 - 30/06/06 to 03/07/06
Hey peeps
I know we haven't even had the Easter 2006 Ring Meet yet (cue 53CEO: "are we there yet?"), but Andy (SBC) and I are trying to sort out our now-traditional summer trip.
While this trip does have the disadvantage of having no bank holidays to reduce the number of days off work needed, it does have two main advantages over the Easter Meet:
Primarily, there are FAR fewer c0cks on the circuit, hunched over the steering wheel of their Mitsubaru Evopreza XV GiT "Massive Edition", saying out loud "I'm a god on GT4 therefore I'm indestructible/impassable in real life" while wandering all over the racing line and into the kitty litter/armco/trees/side of a German mountain.
Secondly, the weather is almost guaranteed to be better than Easter (but Germany is Germany so prepare for snow/sleet/ice/bread from heaven/frogs/etc). So bring scarf, gloves, parka, sun block and cool shades!
So, we will be making the second pilgramage of the year to the Ring over the first weekend of July 2006. The track is scheduled to be open from the Friday lunchtime until the Sunday evening (pretty much about the best you can hope for) and we'll be at the Berghotel from mid-morning Friday until the far-too-early hours of the Monday morning - but maybe a little later.
Right, then. That's the preamble out of the way. Who's up for it?

Dear Mr Hampton,
I should like to draw your attention to the title of this thread, and the deeply upsetting mis use of our magnificent language therein.
When I was in education, I was taught that there would be fewer idiots and not less idiots, unless, of course, you are referring to the weight of the aforementioned idiots, instead of their number.
I remain your's sincerely,
SBC

Might be up for it, dependent on a few things. Need to see how Easter goes, and prospective house purchase around the summer time, but I may well be up for it. Put me down as a probably.

PS Andy - shouldn't it be "while you were in education" not "when" as you're education covered a period of time, rather a single event?
