Hey MQ , you have spelt it incorrectly! its Aldborough, I never thought I would see the day! Whoops no its me got it wrong.

I have been going there since I was about 5, we camped at Church Farm and just remember the trains still running beofre Mr Beeching got his axe out.

I always think it arrived at about 1955 and stopped although of late it has beocme a bit of a Haven for the Chelsea set, and some people refer to it as Chelsea by the Sea.

Oh Her indoors has been checking out Hotels for the dates and there are not many rooms available in the area apart fromt he big chains in and around Ipswich. Whos staying where?

We're booked into Claydon Country House Hotel Friday night - its a Best Western I think. Its a little bit north of Ipswich on the A14 but rates seem reasonable (not much different from a Travellodge). Expedia seems to offer the best deal and reviews seem OK.
Think Grittyshaker may be looking at this one too.

Am curious to know some more about this Scollop... MQ, can you enlighten us ?

Gritty - I spoke to Rob on the phone yesterday and he said he might be around to join us for a drink if we get there early enough on Friday.

Did someone lose the corrugated roof off their shed in the wind

well Snoozenav has decided her neices birthday party in Birmingham is far more important than cruising round Suffolk in the S, so it would seem I will be flying solo on this one.

See you friday night then

Negotiating the early departure from the offcie. the thought of M25/A12 on Friday eve on the BH weekend is not very appealing...
