I'm afraid I won't be able to make the 24th. Next month though! Thanks for the advice on insurance last time guys. It's come tumbling down

August 24th. Route to follow-meeting place also to follow.

We could meet actually in Cheddar. There's a car park right at the bottom of the gorge, or a pub in the village with a decent car park.

Possible route here. There are a lot of single track roads that i've tried to avoid. I'd say ~90% of the route is national speed limit-maybe a few villages which we'd slow down for.

Are we all still on for Wednesday then? I've had a good search of google maps and I've found what could be a good meeting place-as long as it hasn't changed in the couple years since they took the photos for streetview and the satellite! Check out BS40 5QR (comes up with Edwards Motorsports-a classic car specialist apparently)-i think the main part of the industrial estate will be locked up, but there seems to be a car park with some decent space outside of the main gates. From there nice roads are a quick drive away!

Shall we meet at 7pm again? Obviously depends on when people can finish work and get into the countryside.

What do people think of the route (posted earlier)? It finishes at the Old Vic, as recommended by Russ. After our meal last month in Blagdon I think we're all used to gourmet pub food, so this place better be good!

That all looks good to me. Plenty of driving, an extension of our last trip really.

The queen vic is a nice little pub, the food is ok and it has a half decent car park.

Houston we have a problem.

We need to steer clear of priddy village on Wednesday night. Just realised it's priddy fair that afternoon so it will be ram packed and the pub will be full to the brim.

Ive heard the castle of comfort on the old Bristol road isn't too bad, plus it's large and has a big car park. (we drive past it halfway through the route, so we could whip down through priddy/cheddar and then come back up a couple miles.)

Anyone eaten here? I've heard it's mega portions and the food is half decent, but I've personally not been.

Looking on their site they do bike nights, so I doubt a few of us turning up would be a problem.

I cant say i have ever sample to the Castle of comfort, but I'm sure it will suffice! I still up for this, looking forward to bed in the new suspension!

7 is fine for me to. I know a couple of us are heading up from sherborne/yeovil area. Do you have a post code of where we are meeting?

I'm up for this too.

7pm sounds fine to meet up with pub before 8pm.

A confirmation on the meet point with postcode and perhaps a reroute to end up at the castle of comfort.

How many cars and people are we up to?

new route here. If you guys from the south side of the county want a different meeting place (near Shepton Mallet or something?) let me know. I basically just found somewhere near ish to cheddar that wouldn't mind people borrowing their car park. Some places might be funny about it and not welcome us, especially nicer pubs, golf courses etc.
