I'd guess around 40 cars plus, Loon. It's something i've looked at before, but the turnout for trackdays has been pretty low for the last 18 months / 2 years so i'm just not sure we would get the numbers. The key is booking a long way in advance and trying to prevent people from pulling out last minute!

Getting an exclusive day at a proper track would mean around 40-60 cars depending on the track.
The lotus club manages it as do some of the Caterham clubs, but they have a pedigree of producing the numbers.
I think the best we've managed is around 25 cars on a single day.
Having an exclusive day doesn't make it much cheaper if you want a decent venue. You still need an insured organiser to arrange the day for you.
That being said, we do very well with Bookatrack. No other car club gets the discounts we get and we have a track record of well attended, thoroughly enjoyable trackday with them.
But that is largely down to the fact that we've always delivered good attendance when a day as been organised and S2ki have a good record for being polite and courteous on track.

I can confirm that you would want at least 50 cars to run a trackday at most circuits and probably 60-70 on some of the bigger venues. Obviously it could be done with less but it would have to cost more per head..........

Many thanks for the clarification Jonny.
Would the same numbers be required for an evening session? I don't think we would be able to get at least 50 for a standard whole day session.
A half day session may well attract more people if it has a lower price tag.

Give it a couple of years, and we might be able to do it.
It's no longer the case that owners have £25k+ cars that they don't want to smash up/thrash on a track.
As the cars get cheaper and the owners younger and more interested in modifications, I expect there to be more interest in trackdays.
