If you plan to go out onto a track with the hood down, then you will need a full face helmet
I've pretty much always gone out on track with an open face helmet and the roof down.

It's only a problem if you plan on riding in one of those Caterthings.

You don't need a full face helmet with an S2000. I asked Jonny about this a while back.

Is that just at Rockingham or does that apply to all BaT events?

I'm not a fan of closed face helmets myself

All BaT ones AFAIK.

It's more to do wether you have a front screen or not.

I need to buy a helmet too - I think I'll go with open face.

What about Spa and the Ring...is an open face helmet OK with the top down?

MSV regs say no open face with an open top car but I've never seen it enforced. As Mark said, it becomes much more relevant with an aeroscreen!

Not nice without a lid even on the road!

Im really tempted by this... told myself i'd do a trackday this year...was meaning to do it on the bike but since having the car might be good to have a go in that. Is there any other trackday noobs? ill have to get new rears and probably change brakepads so its the most enjoyable it can be. can use my motorbike lid too right?

There'll be a few of us n00bs (myself included) at this track day. It should be good fun so what are you waiting for?

Send MB a PM and he'll send you a discount code.

On a public day at the Ring you can drive naked if you like No helmet required One would be silly not to though!
