Not exactly a POS, but Martin Johnsons Clio Cup car was being driven round rather briskly. Far quicker than the X-Bows.

So much so that Rich and I went to talk with him, and said Clio might start being driven round a little more slowly (but, I suspect more sideways) by 2 people you may recognise next year......
That Clio was awesome.
If the job front works out next year I have a pal who really wants to do the same as you guys.
I think a Clio Cup would be my preference too.

Late to this thread as i went on holiday approx 8 hours after i left the track.

Its a hard life

I thoroughly enjoyed the day. Weather could not have been better and i like the layout we were using.

Great to see the regulars as ever and meet a few new people. MarkB made me smile when he turned up hungover, claimed his tyres overheated and melted with the track temperatures we had and that he couldn't wear them out as he wanted to sell the car with them on.

That's what i call proper excuses

Sazzy, i didn't get to properly introduce myself before helping strap you into the R300 with chilled. Which is a shame because strapping someone into a caterham can end up being quite personal

Good to meet Ralston and Useful too.

For the first few laps i found myself driving very tentatively, which is unlike me. This is only the third time i've been on track this year and it told! But after a few laps i settled back into the groove and soon gained the confidence to keep it floored all the way round the banking which i'm always a bit wary of at this circuit.

The KTM's were driving like knobs, with them blasting past everyone on the straights with or without consent and i did watch them overtake on the wrong side a couple of times too. Otherwise driving standards seemed very good.

I didn't do much passengering, just going out with Craig (who seems to get quicker and quicker) and Nick (who seems to go more and more sideways) but thoroughly enjoyed both passenger rides.

But the highlight of the day had to be watching Danny (Boab) climbing in and out of the R300. He managed it, but only just Shame the video camera on my phone wasn't working at the time

Mark was "tired an emotional" I think that's the phrase used.

I learnt my lesson after the pre 2CV test day drinks at Snetterton last year.

Never again

The Cup car we're looking at is the one built for the one-make series.

Even fewer toys

I had a hangup about Renos for 41 years.
God, what an idiot - I've been missing the budget fun!

Is the deal done then Mark?
