S2Ki Trackday - Rockingham 12th September 2009
Hi all,
Lower has dutifuly organised these days in the past, but is currently snowed under so i've opted to help out. So good has his organisation been, that I have plagarised the info below to organise this one
So the next one will be at Rockingham Raceway with BookaTrack, on the 12th September 2009. I appreciate this is at the same time as JAE but it could fit in nicely for those who want to slip away for some trackday excitement
The club has had several track days with BookaTrack and all have been very good in terms of turn out and enjoyment.
Rockingham is a very modern circuit using part of the banking and the infield to create a really interesting circuit with a good mix of high speed sections and lower speed corners. The circuit was purpose built about 5-6 years ago as an Oval with an infield. The facilities are great, as you would expect from a pupose built circuit, and as a spectator you can see the whole of the circuit from the grandstands or the roof of the garages.
I'd like to encourage anyone who's thinking of attending a track day, but hasn't yet done one. If you've any questions about what a day entails or any preparation you need to do to your car, feel free to ask away on this thread or book and and ask for some guidance on the day. There will be plenty of experienced trackdayer's on the day willing to pass on the benefit of our experience, and we welcome newbies. We know that once you've done your first day, you'll be hooked!
We'll be using the International Long circuit as below:
The circuit itself is based in Corby, Northants, so nice and central. Its just off the A14 and easily reached from the M1 and the M6, directions can be found here
Noise limit for the day will be 103db, making it suitable for pretty much all S2k's.
BookaTrack have given us a superb offer of

I'd like to thank Mark for picking up the baton on this. Work commitments mean that i just can't devote the time required for organising these events for the near future. I'm sure i'll still be attending though!
Just as an aside to Mark's comments above, although JAE is on the same day as this trackday it is literally only half an hour down the road from Rockingham so there is the scope to attend both or even pop down as a spectator for a while and then go back to the JAE.

no charge for 2nd driver as long as they're at the main drivers briefing with you. no problem to change swap either - although you can't rotate between the two.
