S2ki Trackday - Oulton Park - 4th November
#93
First let me say thanks for the comments on here and the ones we got on the day .
With the exception of Chris's off it was a pretty clean day and the levels of courtesy on track were as good as I can remember at any trackday (I'm putting it all down to the quality briefing of course ). Chris was unlucky but he took it well and I'm sure the bruises from kicking himself will heal soon enough.
Looking at some of the comments above it's worth remembering you can get it wrong on any of the corners at Oulton, or any circuit. After Friday I was back there the next day coaching in a GTR and an Exige went off at Dentons and I've been there again today and seen cars off at Cascades and Lodge; naturally there were cars off at Druids on both events as well!
Perhaps surprisingly there are plenty of fwd cars get caught out at Druids in the wet as well, lots spin on turn-in by going in too tight/too fast/not enough throttle and a number use too much throttle mid-corner and find themselves understeering towards the exit kerb so they lift an get into a tankslapper the results of which we already know.
Anyhoo, here's the first of my videos from Friday in my Westfield, CLICKY I'll try to get a dry track one up later as well.
