Matt, very nice stuff you have in there, can I ask which device did you use to do the data logging?

Hee hee. I shouldn't laugh but it's funny.
Snow/ice are things that are hard to deal with. Blaming that on any track day organiser is just foolish.
Jonny, the only thing I'd ask, and I don't know if this is a TDO thing, or a track owner thing, is some method of defrosting a track. I have no idea if this is feasible or even possible. As I'd guess you really don't want to grit/salt a track as that would be counter productive.

Tailhappy, I also agree that the choice of words "ashamed" is a bit out of order.
Please take this up with Jonny directly if there is any further discussion to be had.
Thanks.

Some under track heating of some sort would have been nice

Simply parking a load of vehicles overnight on the sections that won't thaw in the sun would help a lot.
Even chucking some sort of cloth covering would do a good job.

Or newspaper
Oulton have some big fans they drag out.
There's probably some science behind why they don't put covering down over at least the well known icy areas as I'd hope to think they weren't incompetent.

Despite spending a lot of time at tracks, I haven't got any idea about how they're run.
Maybe as they've not experienced those exact conditions before they just didn't have a procedure for it?

Read the thread from the start from the top of Page 10.
If no one tells the organiser at the time - he is powerless to fix it.
Of course you did complain to BAT immediately didn't you.
Sorry - not trying to stir it - I can really feel the frustration.
But I feel for the organiser here too.
