I'm talking with Jonny about something in the new year around April/May time.

Unfortunately, timing on a track day is strictly forbidden because it invalidates the organiser's insurance.

So i don't have clue how long a lap is

Someone who videos their laps with an in car camera might be able to give you an estimate, but as a rule we avoid talking about lap times.

Best way to judge your lap times round a track is by measuring yourself against another similar car or your speed at certain points around the circuit.

Eg. at donington i always look at my speed by the time i get to the bridge on the main straight and that gives me an indication of how well i took the corner before.

Is anyone stopping over nearby the night before?

I was going to bring Kate and was booked in the Preist House, but she's not coming now so I'm not stopping in a pricey place on my own.

MarkB, I'm stopping at a mates place on the Saturday.

Any restrictions with recording your lap with a mate with a camcorder? Just wondering, cheers!

The camera needs to be fixed to the car with a mount - handheld cameras are not allowed.

If anything happens to the car, the last thing you want is a camera flying round the cabin. The organisers take a dim view of people waving cameras about I'm afraid.
