Really enjoyed it, was a victim fuel consumption as well, having to put 48ltrs in before getting off the island, the fuel guages are terrible.
Can't wait til donny, gonna confirm it in the next week or so.
See you all there.

Oh, JG, keep in touch if your clicking gets fixed so i can get mine sorted too.

Just found out that i did one more thing that was more stupid than nearly running out of fuel.
Having just got home today after not being near the car myself, my other half was moaning that the car smelt like a petrol station and after opening the bonnet i found to my surprise that i had forgotten to replace the oil cap after filling up after dinner. So have blown half a litre all over the engine bay. Doh! Luckily i had left the cap in the top up pack but it had a 200mile drive home and an afternoon of track driving.
Shouldn't be too problematic should it? There were 2 little xxx's left on the dipstick. Anyone know of a good place to get an engine cosmetically cleaned?

A question: what was everybody else doing on that right after the left at the top of the hill? The instructor (David) told me to hug the left to turn in wide, whereas the times I was behind Lovegroova he was staying over to the right, as you can see on the video. There was nothing between us either way, so I'm not convinced there's any advantage to what the instructor told me.

I think I only gained on Lovegroova under braking, I couldn't do anything on the corners. So don't buy better pads Simon or I won't be able to keep up.

My line was given to me by Howard, nothing to do with me. The theory being that it was a short distance that way, and it enabled me to brake later, and make less of a turn when coming from high speed to low speed, especially useful in a relatively heavy car like the S - the wider line is probably better for Caterfields.

The straight after is very short, so there was little to be gained by going wide and having a run at it (like the MarkB line out of the slow corner at Rockingham).

I tried both lines and my speed before braking for the next right hander (Peel) was very similar.

PS I saw 114mph on the straight in my last session yesterday

Yes, I tried Howard's line in the Caterham after going out with Simon and it felt slower (probably as accurate as a US owner's butt dyno)

I had a brilliant time overall, well worth the 18 hours and 1200 miles of driving to get there

I think next year I'll fit all my track days into a week although the wife didn't really agree with me...
