you were lucky then.

I've never seen cars driven so slow and so badly on track - nearly went and spoke to BaT

they are hire cars-you pay per lap i believe.

The M3 CSL was a hoot - he was trying to catch me on Sunday, just as it was getting dark. Headlights on, he had the back end out on every corner

Not sure how it stands with posting lap times from recorded video?

You are allowed to record with a fixed camera so can easily after the day review the footage and give a track time?

James, I take your point but this issue has been touched upon in the past. No timing to be discussed re BaT track days (besides which, what does it matter - there are so many variables including different cars and drivers).

PS I was the BatCat driver in the tasteful blue anorak who popped over for a chat to comment on how composed your Cayman was. Good to meet you.

Nigel, that's doesn't make an ounce of difference. I'll delete my posts in a few mins and I suggest that you delete your comments on the point
I've done as you said, but don't agree.

I don't see how you can possibly stop an independent person doing something at the side of the track, possibly not even on land owned by the track.

When you sign up and pay for a bookatrack day you agree to their terms and conditions which state that timing is not allowed and if they suspect you of timing your laps or being timed by someone else then they have the right to remove you from the track with no refund.

So the reality of that is that Bookatrack cannot pysically prevent someone from timing you. However, if they get wind of it they will remove your car from the circuit. It invalidates their insurance so they operate a no tolerance policy.

On another forum a while back a bookatrack customer admitted surreptitiously timing themselves. That customer was banned from ever attending bookatrack days again and Jonny from Bookatrack does read this forum too.

On that basis, in the past i've always advocated not even discussing timing in any way or form on the forum. Even if it is timing taken from a video filmed during the day but reviewed afterwards it just confuses people and its much simpler to just not discuss it.
