premierinn at bangor is one of the closest of the option 2 type places. I hate travelodges and will not stay due to the amount of times they've screwed up my bookings. premierinn are far more reliable.
I'm interested in the cottage option too.

Travelodge have a perfect record as far as i'm concerned, and are usually cheaper than Premier Inn. They have Holyhead and Bangor as locations.
Does anyone know which of the towns would be better for some pubbing/eating in the evening? That would make it a better choice to stay.
I'm a light sleeper so prefer my own room.

I'll go with any option bus suspect option 2 would be easiest.
A guaranteed good night sleep would be nice and we may not get that in a cottage which could easily turn into an all night drinking session.
Jeez, I am getting sensible in my old age!
