A quick question and may be a dumb one now that this track day is approaching very quickly and because it's my 1st time

I have read about fitting a towing eye - is this absolutely necessary and if so, how do I do this & do I need to buy one or is there one already on the S?

There should be a towing eye in the tool tray in the boot, along with instructions for how to fit it in the owners' manual (essentially, remove the plastic cover in the bumper and screw the towing eye in).

You only need one fitted if you need towing out of somewhere, so the best advice is to avoid the need for that. however, it's better to attach a tow rope to this, rather than a wishbone, wing mirror or any other part of the car. The towing guys will want to get you out of the way as soon as they can so others can continue driving.

Front or rear is your choice.

Martin, I have a spare tow eye if you need it. Oh, and do you fancy going the circuit in covoy as I will be staying in Buckley on Friday night.

Car wise, for me, I have picked up a small leak in rear axle. Consensus is that it's the shaft seal which will hopefully be fixed by next week!

Car wise, for the EVO 4 i've been building for my mate, things are going well too. Gearbox and synchro are done (courtesy of EARS Motorsport) and I have fitted the new coilovers. I still have new wheels, new seats, new steering wheel, new speakers, decat, and rear LCAs to fit (maybe even an Apexi Power FC)so it'll be a busy week coming up.

Ron - yes great idea about convoying over as I want a ride in your Westfield and YHPM with my new mobile number so we can sort where to meet up.

I'd put front and rear eyes in. Best if they can access both ends of the car, should the worst happen. I was warned that I only had a rear one in at Rocky, and they told me if I span off it would be lashed onto anything they could find if the rear one wasn't reachable. And hey presto, span on my own oil, stuck on the track facing forwards. Fortunately the marshalls were more tolerant and decided not to drag the car by the first thing they found...

Great news Dave

LG said we could sleep on his floor

I've not looked for any alternatives to the Lodge yet.

Could be cozy.

I need to see if I can get the Friday off work, otherwise it'll be early early start on Saturday rather than face the Friday night traffic.

Excellent news, Dave

Good luck with finding some accommodation - The Holyhead Travelodge has some rooms available, and it's about the same distance from the circuit that Bangor is.

I just sneaked a room at the Bangor one for £56

There is another room showing Dembo!

Has anyone got his number? If not I can book it.
