[MODERATOR'S NOTE: This thread was separated out of a reply from Don Palmer on PL's thread about her day with him.]

Seems to me we need to do something special for S2000 folk.

What a wonderful understanding of what went on that day. Pinky noticed that learning takes as long as it takes. Franky got it right big time.
The explanations above were perfect for the people who learned on the day - for they reflected the personal learnings of individuals. Not those of technical wizards or professional coaches.
Proving that you don't need to be a wizard to be able to do this stuff.

Let's consider a Honda S2000 group vehicle dynamics day

How many people could we get together for a day?
How would it be if I plan a structure where we run a seminar for all, followed by practical exercises in pairs so you coach each other.

We would need to monopolise the whole place and rent the control tower. It would only work for a significant number of folk

If this were to be a group limit handling day we would also need to consider a safe structure that ensures everyone's safety.

$64,000 question....

Let me be the first to throw my hat in the ring. I'd be very interested in doing something like this.

Don.

EDIT - Damn that Hoggy Boy and his quick typing.

scuse my igorance but I don't do many of these forum thingys - how do we/you progress this?
It probably needs someone to champion it and do some work making it go from S2000 side.
The last thing I want to do is appear to be pushing coaching on people who might find this offensive.
I welcome any feedback and/or guidance on this.
Best fishes

I'm happy to champion this from the S2ki side Don.

We probably need to look at dates, numbers of cars/people interested, costs and then finalise when and where.

I've separated this out into its own thread.

Don, I think the idea is a very good one - there are enough people here who are sufficiently enthusiastic about their cars and learning how to drive them "properly" to make this work. I for one will, somehow or other (!), make sure I find the money to attend.

Can I suggest that we see in the first instance how many indications of interest we have? I guess cost is at least in part going to be determined by number of attendees. We'll have to be guided by you on the maximum number you think you can take though.

Once we have an idea about whether it's viable (and, to be honest, I don't really think that's in any doubt), we can start sorting out the specifics.

Does it really matter whose name goes where? There wasn't a running list when I edited my post to add one. If it makes Hoggy feel better, I'll edit it......... Sheesh!)
