Hi, I'd like to come along and learn how to do a few jobs. The main one I need is the TCT so I'm along with Eho on learning that please. Otherwise, just generally learning how to change brake discs and pads would be good too.

Also, depending how difficult it is, removing the centre console between the seats - tried and failed so far!

The centre console/glovebox is a tw@t of a job, although I will look into it for you

 

Makes me feel a bit better, I struggled for half a day pulling all the trim out but couldn't work out how to get out the screws or bolts holding it at the back. Guessed I needed to take the trim out below the hood but I'm not double jointed! It's not something I'm desperate to do. I bought a whole console because I wanted the wind deflector and I was trying to avoid drilling my lid in case I decide to go back to original.

 

Ah OK. I may just lift the car and clean them in situ then. It is not worth the hassle.

The way things (my work and my weekends) are going now the wipers will still be outstanding (likely because I have not done anything about it or because I have not managed to work it out).
I am also definitely interested in looking at some of the other jobs. Looking forward to it. It is also a good excuse to set aside some time for my car and me, which I am struggling to fit in these days with the house renovation taking over.

Although it's unlikely that coolchrisuk will be in attendance, I should be able to borrow some of his tools...the good egg that he is

I will be doing a tool check in the next couple of weeks to ensure that I have everything required for each job

The drain plugs get reused, as do the washers. There is no need to replace them, but you can if you like

 

That's a relief - approached all 3 local Honda dealers to get the fluids for the day, none of them stocked the washers or could get them inside 2 weeks and all 3 said their mechanics just re-used them.

Didn't want to show-up with only half the kit!

Can i confirm the tech day is Sunday the 26th of June? My company want me to go to Australia for 2 weeks and im going to delay it til July.

Just wondering did aquillaeagles high temperature urea grease turn up?

Also confirming whether you have the time to help me with it?

I think this is enough as far as main jobs go, although I should be able to squeeze in a couple more rabbit jobs.

Tim - Yes, Sunday 26th June. Yes, I will be able to help you out, but no, the high temp grease has not been sent yet, but I have just ordered some myself

If you're still having problems with your window, I shall take a look. If you identify the motor/regulator as faulty beforehand and get a spare, I can help you change it
