Lakes meet {THREAD UPDATE 24/4/09}
[THREAD UPDATED 24/4/09]
Right you orrible lot , me and petron are organising a lakes meet. Come along to meet other owners and sample the wonderful roads we have here in the lakes .
It will be scheduled for saturday the 25th of April, i know this is only a week after the Euromeet but hey keep the meet spirit going! (Any later and the lakes starts to get very busy!, hopefully weather will be good too ).
Route is now more or less completed will be posting up in a few days. We also have a tomtom ITN file which will give you the route for tomtom owners.
It will be a 'slow' meet, and the plan is to have some lunch at a pub and possibly a nice meal later on.
Accomodation could be organised if you wish, for people travelling a long way. We might have a do or something at night time depending on how many people attend and interest.
S2000's and others (from here) welcome.
Feel free to PM me or petron.

http://maps.google.co.uk/maps/ms?hl=en&ie=...87b7c1091e22fd8
Start time and meet point
11.00 AM at 'The Rheged Centre' at penrith http://www.rheged.com/ this is just off the M6 so it has good access. See the website for the postcode etc, any major problems with this time PM me.
There is a petrol station at Rheged, drive through the petrol station and as you go round the side you will go down a short hill and you will then see car parking places. I will choose a point on the outside away from the main enterance.
Depending on how much time we have, we may add a little more to the route towards the end, after the meet is finished we will have a nice meal somewhere.
You should now all have the .ITN file for tomtom sat nav as well as the paper copy of the meet/details.
Thanks

Really, really want to do the lakes and would love to join you but as you say I and others will be recovering from Euromeet. Might be a meet too far for me.

Don't let the post Euromeet blues and a tired backside put you off. There's a weekend in between to rest up, and it's going to be a S-L-O-W meet anyway.
C'mon, you know you wanna

We (wifey and me) are planning to stop over the Saturday night in a hotel (we only live in Carlisle but it's the only way I could get her to join me ), so if anyone else would also like to stay over (a few jars and a meal) then just let us know and I will check out the local (Lakes) accommodation. If anyone has any specific suggestions or preferences then by all means PM me.
