Definitely do not need the cabin. Most of the Stena Line or Irish Ferries seating areas are quite comfortable. No need to splash out 100 stirling extra for a cabin the size of a cloakroom.

I can definitely meet people at the port and arrange some of the groundwork over here.

If you go on Irishferries Jonathan Swift, the crossing is 1 hour. Don't take the slow boat.
