OK, half the route is done, with the proviso that I have to drive it as a final run through, but it's mostly on roads that I already know. The provisional route should be ready on Monday (ish)

An updated list of who's coming...

Definites:

PaulF
Suzybee
lovegroova
Guiness002

Possible/probable/if I'm not too drunk:

Stookystar?
Dini?
Vixen ?
RichUK ?

No, I'll be in a really warm and sunny place, laughing out loud at the thought of you lot driving in the freezing cold with your roofs down:

Not sure ......

The reason for sticking with the Crooked Chimney for this meet is that the Red Lion gets *very* busy on a sunday afternoon as it is within walking distance of the west side of Welwyn Garden City.

I went there last Sunday and I counldn't get a parking space ..... or a seat

I was planning on going back to the Red Lion for the Feb meet and then take a vote on whether we should move elsewhere.

OK, I drove the planned route of interesting lanes and B roads and found that there is a significant amount of snow and ice still on this type of road. Having checked the weather forcast for the next few days, I can't see a big thaw happening, so I'm proposing that we stick to a slightly more boring route made up of fast A and B roads that should be clear of frost/snow/ice.

Unfortunately, there are some 'ordinary' roads linking the interesting ones so I'm putting the route up here for you to have a look at route map. If you imagine it as similar to rally special stages being linked together by normal roads, you'll be on the right track. The interesting roads are from Welwyn to Hitchin, Hitchin to Barton, Baldock to Buntingford and Hertford to Welwyn. I'm planning a stop at Baldock services for a comfort break.

Please let me know if you're still interested in a watered down, but significantly safer run.

Cheers

Paul
