7am is way to early. I would say that 9:00am would be a more suitable start time.
That would give us plenty time to do a drive to the karting, an hour for karting (allowing for getting there, getting changed, pre-karting briefing etc) and an hour to get back to the pub for lunch, at say 12:20pm.

It's a waste of time driving around after 9am as everyone is going sales shopping by then. It's why the Ricky - Towcester run starts at 7.
I'd probably just waft up the A1 and meet up at the karting place if a 9am start was in order.

The route I am thinking of will be out of the normal 'shopping route' on a sat but an early ish start around 7.30 meet leave the pub at 8 ish should be ok and ne enough time to get to the karting and back to the pub by about 12.30 ish ?
need to confirm numbers interested in driving at the kart track soon as we will have to book the karting well in advance.
