I remember my little excursion at Adenau whatever. Got so pre-occupied with passing a golf that tried not to be passed, when I got clear of him I realised I didn't have a clue where I was and this mega right-left-right appeared out of nowhere. Bit of a moment to say the least, but is was only my second ever lap!!
AE, if you really want to scare yourself, go straight to adenau first and look at where the ring goes across a bridge (over the main road), it looked so narrow to me I said to my old man, who came along "look a go-kart trac....." and then it dawned and I said no way am I going on that, or a more colourful version.

AE, I've followed you on a meet and you are plenty good enough a driver to be fine with the ring. A little bit of fear is good as it keep us on the straight and narrow (literally). Just drive it like you would a fast road i.e. 7/10ths and no more and you'll be fine. Don't treat it like a track, it's not the place to be trying to get your back end out, just drive it smoothly and you'll be fine.
I am a bit scared as it seems such a long time ago and I only did 11 laps of it so I am a novice. I'm sure it will feel like its my first time when I get there again.
I am getting excited about it now, it's at least a 3 times weekly thought and increasing. Oh boy, oh boy, oh boy.

I got 18 laps out of my R4S fronts.. they were not totally finished but not suitable for another trip..
though this was with slotted discs and 7 of the laps on track type tyres.. (dust covers removed)
the backs had plenty of meat left..

Same again at Bedford, although that time cost me rear disks as well. So I'll be prepared but won't be taking tools (as I don't have any).

Don't know if it's been mentioned in this thread, but playing the 'ring on a game like GT4 or Forza will really help you out on your first few laps. What it can't do you is tell you what speed and gear to do corners in, but what it can do is help you at least learn where the track goes. ie where the sharp turns are, which bits to watch out for.

Here is part of an e-mail I got off J.H. Hubbers, who frequents the Ring taking pics like this.
Thought it might be something to think about when we go next year.

This is what I mentioned earlier in the thread:-
Something you might want to keep in mind for next year is that I also
do assignments together with a photographer-mate of mine. You browse a
selection of samples of our work to give us an idea what type of shot
you like, we meet at the Ring and do a lap during which you point out
what your favourite bends are, and we make sure that we get good
shots. At the end of the day (or weekend, depending on how long you're
there) we show you the pictures on a laptop, and you tell us which of
them you want.
This is of course a little more expensive, but you'd be certain to get
some good shots. See
http://jvc.pingus.be/fotos/TF_2005_0...ley/index.html for an
example.
We usually do these things for individuals, but we can probably work
something out for a group of cars too.
Cheers,
JW

played the demo version you get with TOP GEAR magazine.. sponsored by Honda..
so only the Civic, S2000, NSX were unlocked... on limited circuits.
I only have a PC so have not found a game with the circuit on it.. GrandPrix legends does not seem to exist any more.
