I did 21 laps last Easter, and maybe got to know about 2/3rds of it. I stopped off for a few hours (and 4 laps) in August, and had watched and rewatched loads of videos by then, so I think maybe I knew about 9/10ths of it. And by "know" I mean know where the track is going so you have enough confidence to push a bit, but still a long way from getting the ideal lines.

With the GP track as well it makes for a very long lap. I found the last 1/3rd of the Nordschliefe quite hard to remember if only because by the time you get there you've been driving flat out for the best part of 10 minutes. It's actually easier without the GP track I think, but I liked doing the GP track as it gave you a chance to play a bit, and to get everything warmed up.

Just remember to look in your mirrors, especially before moving towards the apex of a left hander, and you'll be fine.

Edit: And I'm told Wipperman is the S2000 killer corner, so watch out for that one.

AE - I'm sure there'll be plenty of passenger seats available for you to take up for a few introductory laps before venturing out on your own if you want.

I'll have Claire with me occupying my passenger seat, but she could be persuaded to exchange it for a seat in an S if anyone wants to come out with me

Still trying to get through to Eurotunnel to change my booking to the other way

Phoned Hohe-Acht - and it was answered by a lady who spoke no German!
So managed to book a room, and gave my name, then sent an email to hohe-acht@gmx.de
just in case, to ask for confirmation (as I _THINK_ the lady asked!).

Translated it using babelfish (which does a fair job) and sent it in both English & German, to hopefully avoid confusion!

See what I mean? I'm an organisational disaster!

Fortunately, I don't organise away trips for a living.... only IT projects

I've read that it is not good to time yourself.

Anyways, how do you time your lap?
