Am I getting excited? It's the middle of the night and I can't sleep. I have just ordered a set of Mintex brake pads earlier today after reading about brake wear, to be on the very safe side in the unlikley event of wearing my current pads out.

I've got about 7mm on my tyres so I'm hoping that should be fine for 15 or so laps as I don't remember it wearing my tyres unduely last time, although I did do proper warm downs - I think I only lost 2mm and that included 12 laps with the GP circuit.

Does this sound about right guys or should I start worrying?

I don't belive this. I couldn't resist a 300mile round trip to a family party and some Oik must have sandpapered the remaining tread off my tyres.

Is it feasible to get tyres fitted over there and is there somewhere local to the ring that stocks high performance tyres in those odd sizes only Honda seems to find?
Are they cheaper over there?????

@ Richie
My mate Dave (who had a Scooby then a Griffith) got worrying bad tyre wear on an early trip, so we had to pop into Koblenz to find a tyre specialist. They weren't that different a price to UK fitters IIRC but they did the job cash in hand *ahem*

Adenau is much bigger and more Ring focused now so you may be alright. You could contact the Ring mini guy who owns a garage and
see if he can source (and fit) you some????

@ david
Unless you drive like a complete c0ck, your brakes will be fine. Brake a little earlier into the corners and carry more speed out, rather than late on the pedal and then stomping. Yankee Kurt rented an Opel Speedster (VX220) for 3 consecutive trips and was amazed how little tyre or brake wear there was. Summat to do with a much lighter car, despite better/faster cornerning.
