I'm on the 7:55 ferry from Dover on Thursday .. Hotel in Koblenz.

I think you're going to have to pedal quickly, Tim, as the AA route planner reckons nearly 5 hours from Calais to Adenau.

If you get on the road by 7pm, you're looking at a midnight (with no traffic delays) arrival. Did you say you warned Thomas to stay up until you arrive? <snigger>

If its 8pm arrival, I'd say you're definately buggered (albeit not literally)

Would it not be better to try and get a room at Liege (I've used the Etape and Campenile hotels next to the motorway) and at least get a good nights sleep?

Well personally I'd rather try to get there (1am would be fine) or move the train.

sorry guys - not trying to piss on your chips but IMHO you will struggle mightily to get to the hotel at a reasonable hour without seriously risking your licenses in Belgium.

Liege is only 90 mins away from the Berghotel and charges
