The problem is that if you move around so much it is very hard to settle, you keep waiting for the other shoe to drop, you resist spending time money and effort on the house.
I moved around every 2 years or so when I was a kid, (due to my Dads prison career) and I still don't think I've settled. Maybe I'll find my dream house and stop moving.
Like a drifter I was born to walk alone......
Have the sudden desire for a white XJs now

[QUOTE=euan,Nov 29 2004, 02:59 PM] Are you serious?
This sounds like the last car you would have bought - it'll be pipe & slippers next.
Is there any Golf worth buying other than the original Mk1 and 2 GTi ?

Don't you fancy a luxo barge like Andy's?
SAAB 9-5 Aero - big-milers are cheap and still look good.
T5 - cheap, smart, rapid.
Older 3 series touring?
Subaru legacy/forester?
Older A4 avant?
RAV4?
Accord?
Seat Leon?
All of these are less than a used Golf, surely?

I just want something that will not really go wrong and that I do not have to worry too much about. Having gone to look at some older large cars I just have this worry that it is all a bit of a gamble
