On top of this, I would double mic the snare - one underneath and one above - I've got a cracking snare mic - Shure Beta 57a. I also normally forfeit an overhead to close mic the hi-hat. 2 overheads and a hi-hat mic is the ideal but I don't have enough. And I'd love to try double micing the bass drum, last time I was in a pro studio I was told that this is the best way to get a great Bass drum sound.
How many inputs have you got on the 01x? I think we're up to 10 mics now

But my XLR to Jack snake hasn't arrived

My normal Kit mic'ing is
Bass drum - AKG D112
Snare - top mic Shure Beta 57a
bottom mic - AKG (forgot the number)
Toms - Two SM57s over the three toms
One overhead shure pencil condenser
One hi-hat Shure condenser
