It wasn't my car. I noticed the person I was following in the convoy had something flapping under his car so got under there to take a look, turns out it was a part of underbody trim that he knew about.

Thanks Simon for another well organised run. It was a really great route you took us on with some literally breathtaking roads. It must of taken a considerable amount of time to plan and drive those roads.

Nice to go for a drive with talented drivers. The drop in pace (or the lack of) when it got wet was also impressive. On that note, apologies to anyone behind me during the wet sections. My tyres are in need of replacement at the moment and I don't usually go as quick as the cars in front of me were going when it's raining.

You're very welcome. The planning is just as much fun as the meet itself.

As for driving in the damp, my main tips would be to brake earlier and more gently, use 3rd instead of 2nd on the tighter corners, and let the car find its own way round the corner, rather than pushing the rear around the corner with the throttle. Then pick up the throttle slowly and smoothly as steering lock is unwound. If the back starts to begin to slip a little, simply stop adding throttle which is easy if you are increasing the opening slowly.

Fantastic sounding and looking bunch of cars.

I've sorted the photos to remove the really rubbish ones, the rest are on photobucket, including a couple while we waited. Heard you all ages before we saw you, and we could see a long way!!!

and a couple to whet your appetite for the rest of the album!

Rob,

Thanks for the kind words and great pics. I'm glad you and Nick had a good time - you are very lucky to live near the "Uffington Road" - a true test of a car and enormous fun, too.
