Meh. My wife's school district cancelled classes, so she stayed home today. I left the '8 in the garage and took the CR-V to work. It didn't take me much longer than normal, but that's primarily because there wasn't anyone else on the roads, but I had no trouble maintaining decent speeds at all. AWD, VSA, ABS, & M+S tires FTW! 
That being said, I realize the Plano/Richardson/Garland area didn't get his as bad as some other parts of the Metromess.

The neighborhood sure looked pretty this morning.
The drive in to work however (heading north on 75) was really scary at times. The truck went sideways a good bit once, and all I did was let off the gas a tad while going 3 or 4 mph. Other cars were sitting stopped in the middle of the highway with their hazards on. I could hear their tires spinning, but they weren't going anywhere.
It must be above freezing now, though. The precipitation is simply rain, and the parking lot and roads are wet with only patches or slush.

Is your truck 4WD? I find that mine, even though it's an off-road only setup (locked center diff), helps a lot in low traction on pavement. You just have to remember to put it back in 2WD when you get on dry stuff.

Nope, just RWD. Having an open diff helps, since usually only one rear wheel spins. But no weight in the rear, performance tires and lack of traction control certainly made things interesting.

Turns out it all melted into slush/water, i'm posting from work...oh well at least I got an extra 3 hour nap in before coming in to work and we can leave around 3:30.
