Default Valve Adjustment

I was browsing the forums when a thread about a valve adjustment caught my eyes. I tried searching, but I couldn't find what I needed.

So my questions are, how do you know when you need to do one and where can I get one done at other than the dealership? BTW my car has about 25K miles on it.

Thank you in advance.

when i first got my berlina s2k i immediately took for a valve train checkup, due to the way the previous owner abused my grand prix white one. took it to honda and they had their "master" mechanic do all of my work. took about an hour and a half and cost me about 200 bucks.

for me it was piece of mind, and finding out if the driver before me had overrevved or not.

if you dont want to go to a dealership then make sure that you take it to someone whos has done the wok on an s2000 before

Sorry for bumping an ancient thread, but I want to know if anyone recommends a good private shop to do a valve adjustment as well. I've got a track day coming up and my car at least SOUNDS like it has one or two out of spec. If anyone has any stories/recommendations please let me know.
