UPDATE:

00MugenS2 and I changed JSPD's clutch last night and found this:



Looks like it may have come into contact with something but we couldnt find any other damage that would verify that it had.

Any ideas?

FWIW, it is an Exedy stock replacement disc that was paired with a Fidanza aluminum flywheel and an OEM pressure plate.

I dont know who did the previous install. I would be willing to bet that it wasnt busted up like that when they put it in though

Greg --> I had one launch on the street that wheel hopped a lot. Other than that just launches at the Auto-X

I forgot about the possibility of losing a nacelle spring.

nacelle springs can come loose due to clutch abuse or an improperly designed clutch. I've seen it happen mostly on abused clutches (lots of high-rpm dumps that overheat the clutch) but also on stock Honda clutches, albeit NOT the S2k yet), that were driven in a manner that Honda should have expected (maybe not "easy" but not hard-core tracking). I've personally had them come loose on a stock clutch.
