I am actually planning the route right now from bridgeport.
Be careful up there - Runaway Bay is a notorious speed trap... Its a nice road up 1658 then 2952 towards Wise County Park and into Chico...

Cool - also beware that west of the lake into Young, Jack, and Palo Pinto counties, there are alot of deer and hogs that could pose a problem crossing the roads

My recommendation would be to get a few folks to volunteer as scouts for drive day. I'm not sure if you typically use them for your drive. IMO that works best in larger group drives. They not only can scout out the local Hamthrax but also keep an eye on local conditions of the day such as wildlife, local traffic, road debris, etc. Multiple scouts usually work best so that they can criss-cross the route always keeping a little ahead of the drive.

Gents,
I am looking forward to meeting the larger group and more importantly, really enjoying the car on a nice drive.
Good luck and here is to looking for a date in the near future for a Tom drive (I have heard only great things about them)

Sorry, but I pulled my back and can't make the test run today.

As far as the Texas Z Party, for now I am looking at the following venue.
April 23-25

This event will be open to all your group Tom

Party Headquarter Comfort Suites, 2302 10th Street Bridgeport
http://www.comfortsuites.com/hotel-b...rt-texas-TXD90
Cost $70 per night ... have to mention Texas Z Party for rate.
includes dinner on Friday and Breakfast on Saturday and Sunday. They have
indoor pool, manned bar, and party area. Good parking for party in the
lot. Rooms can have up to two beds and a pull out couch so three could
share room

(Drags Optional) Gate opens @6pm Cost is $15 to race, $10 to watch
Friday night - 1/8 drags @ North Star Dragway in Denton
http://www.northstar-dragway.com/index.html

Saturday - @ MVP Motorsports in Bridgeport.
http://www.mvpmotorsports.com/merchant/contact.shtml
Dyno 10am to 3pm Cost is $25 for 3 pulls. 2 wheel only
Car show set up as early as 10, peoples choice judging 1-3pm
Cruise 3:30 till dusk
Dinner in town around 6:30 pm ... location to be determined later
Party at Hotel .... Comfort Suites

(AutoX optional) Cost is $25 .... need to be there by 8:30am ... we will
leave hotel by 7:30 for all that want to attend
Sunday - high speed autocross @ Mineral Wells Airpark
http://www.autocross.com/er/equiperapide/m...utocrossevents/

We decided to use Comfort Suites hotel after talking to the manager. She
is giving us a very good rate and wants us to have fun. She has no problem
with us drinking out at the pool and parking lot with our own booze. It is
close to MVP Motorsports and since the majority of events will be in
Bridgeport it only makes sense to have it there. It is also half way
between Denton and Mineral Wells
