Nope, I wasn't at TMS. How'd that event go?

I don't have any of the timing info with me right now. I know that Andy got FTD. I think Tuan wasn't far behind (in my car. Obviously I have some work to do. ) The Firebird was definitely fast, although I don't remember just were his times fell.

TMS went well I showed up late in the afternoon around 1pm. I was able to pick up 2 novice sessions. It was a little frightening to ride the bike around the course. I was able to get leaned over pretty far towards the end of the last session. There is nothing like going around a turn at 45-50 mph and seeing the ground to the right of you out of the corner of your eye

Glad to hear you took the bike out. I'm planning on jumping on the same bandwagon soon. Need to learn how to ride first though, LOL! I'm taking the MSF course next weekend.

What kind of gear were you wearing?

preferrated leather riding jacket with armor built in, Dr. marteen leather boots, jeans, gloves, helmet, and roller blade style knee pads.

I will be spending some money on zip in pants and real motorcycle riding boots very soon. I think I will go with the kevlar mesh paints, for ventalation.

spawn,

That is the perfect enviroment to learn how to drive the bike as agressive you may want or not. Myself and another rider almost got into it with an asshole that was eventually thrown out, for being an asshole period. I would have whipped his ass for the stupid shit he was doing. I'll tell you about that later.

I would reccomend any type of protective gear even if it was cheap. The roller blade knee pads wouldn't last through a nasty spill, but they were satisfied with providing them as protection.

The TMS events for the bikes is DE driven with classroom sessions with a lead and follow the instructor session. This session is several laps that rotates each bike to the front to follow the instructor through for one lap.

Run Groups for the Bikes.

After you take the class if you want to take my bike for a spin, you can. Just to see if you like the balance of power and handling.

btw, once I was comfortable with being on the track, I was eating up the larger displacement bikes in the turns.

Thanks for the offer. I think I will take you up on it. I'm considering either a SV650S or a YZF600R. A friend of mine is selling a YZF for a good price, but it may not be the best choice for a beginner. After the course I'll have a much better idea of what I'm getting myself into.

I had a VFR700 back in high school. I still have nightmares about it.

there will be several pennington field events coming up that you can test drive the bike in a safe closed circuit forum. SBH sets up a small road course for technical driving practice.

You can flat foot a SV650S fairly easily. I believe anyone over 5'7" can flat foot the bike.

I weight 215 lbs and I topped the bike out a 130MPH. It has plenty of power down low and in the mid ranger.

I 3rd geared the road course dropping to 30-40 mph and rolling on up to 90 in 3rd.
