Cobalt Spec-VR That's what I use for track time.
Aren't those for true Race car use. I would think GT sports or a level or 2 above that would be good enough for HPDE's. Wouldn't Spec VR's wear our the rotors faster?

Probably. Rotors are a "wear item", though, just like pads & tires. IIRC, a set of rotors cost about the same as a set of these pads, so they aren't that expensive, relatively speaking.

That's true in a S2k. In a NSX, decent Rotors will cost you a $800 and UP.

Y'all might kill me, but rotors for a C5 Corvette are $25 each at NAPA. I usually only get 2-4 track days out of them though, but run aggressive pads.

One of the advantages of having a domestic, I suppose. Lots of replacement parts, and even aftermarket performance parts are considerably cheaper than parts for imports.

For those who have registered for this event, what run group are you registered for? I'm a little flexible on which I would choose and it's generally more fun to be on course with someone you know vs. a bunch of strangers.

I've been driving solo for a while now. But I've never done MSR clockwise, so I don't know where I'll end up. If I had to guess, I'll be in Advanced but they'll have an instructor do a check ride for the new course configuratoin.

Doesn't look like we'll get enough people to qualify for that...
