Default Test drove a new C6

All I can say is wow! The car was fast! The model was a base 6spd with no options and it was tits. Considering GM's resale is dodgy, would be a good step up model in next 1-2 years. The thing handled very well. If anyone ends up being interested, I know a guy at the local Chevy Dealership that is very cool.

To you that own one, I'm jealous, the car rips. Beautiful sounding engine and exhaust note.

I've driven two C6's and a C6 Z06. They really are awesome cars. They have a different feel than the S2000 (obviously), but once you get used to the bit bigger dimensions, it really does handle and haul a**.

It's on my radar as a future sports car. I loved my C5.

Yeah, the new Vette is the first domestic that I've ever "liked". If it were in the budget, I'd probably be in line for a new Z06. But, if a new Z06 were in the budget, I'd probably convince myself to hold out just a bit longer until I could afford a Porsche (which is the car that I really want anyway).

I'd agree that the C6 is the best looking sports car out of Detroit in decades. I'd like to test drive one sometime, but it's definitely not in the budget for a few years at least. Kids, you know...

Porsche Cayman S should be in the $60k range or better, but I think I'd rather have the Z06 for the extra bucks. Too many Porsche owners that I know complain about reliability and high operating costs.

Most people just will not accept or believe how good the C6 is until they actually drive one. Congrats. In my mind the best thing about the C6 is its ability to be both a stunningly fast track carving machine, and a responsible incredibly comfortable and quiet when you want to be, daily driver.

Very good point, it was quiet but you can still hear that sweet music when you hit the high RPM's. Man it sounded nice. I kind of wish I would have saved an additional year and bought a C6 but then again, I'll swoop one up in about 2 years when they have substantially devalued (a used one).

What I really liked also was the suspension. The stock suspension feels very good over choppy pavement. In other words it's not bone jarring stiff by any means yet still handles like a MOFO. The seating position was also a welcomed change, as I could tour in that car, couldn't do that in the S.

I like it from behind the wheel, except for the fact that it feels a mile wide and long, but, even tho they've improved it, I still can't stomach the tail end.

I had my money down for one and went back and got my money back.

The car could have been done @ 7/8th scale and been KILLER!

The lines of the car do make it look larger than it is... the design team had a mandate to limit the car to the same size as a 911 and they did it. No one ever calls a 911 too big.

I felt it was surprising nimble and did not feel large when I was test driving. It would be my choice if I was buying a new sports car. I would have bought one instead of the S2000 if they had been available back then.

Now that there are more on the lot it is easier to get a test drive... my son and I drove them for the second time recently. Frank Parra Chevrolet on 183 had more than a dozen.. although the only Z06 that lasted long enough to make it to the showroom was sold as we stood there (they are still selling those at a premium).
