I've heard some people express curiosity on just how to replace brake pads on our cars, and since my current pads are pretty low and my R4S's just came in, perhaps we could arrange a time/place to get together for an instructive brake pad changing. Myself, I don't have the facilities to do it (got and apartment, so I borrowed the parents' house) but if somebody can donate some space and tools...? Also, maybe somebody would be willing to do an oilchange on their car, which I haven't done myself, or perhaps an easy x-brace install... In any case, I thinks it's just fun to get underneath the car and check out all the mechanical bits.

Sounds like a plan. I've got Mingsters FLCB with me, and haven't installed it yet - something that doesn't take but a few minutes to install.

I'd certainly help out with the brakes, given the resources and space to do that (remember, I'm living out of a hotel in Addison?)- but I'm sure any inexperienced person out there might benefit from it more than I.

p.s. - I have a set of Fiamm horns too, but I wouldn't want to take up that much time to do em. I'd rather wait on the CF Brake Ducts to do any 'taking off the front fascia' work all at once.

Mark, We can always use my shop.
The thing is I am in the-middle-of-nowhere.
I just have to put the Porsche, bikes,... outside. No big deal.
I have air tools
How about Saturday afternoon?

Yeah, I remember passing Midlothian on the way to Kerrville... Acording to mapquest, though, that's only 38 miles / 44 minutes from Addison - that's not a big deal, really.

If there's enough interest, Saturday afternoon would work great for me.

This may be too short of notice for some.
If we are going to do it I would like to know by Friday. So I can clean the shop.
If just one or two that want to show up thats cool too.
But the more the merrier. I got lots of parking space.
Whatever I'm easy.
I am thinking like 2pm. The wife has me running around in the am.

I might be up for it. I'll have to see though, so possibly 50% as of now. The other 50% might pull me back to work (if I can get card access in this building), and perhaps move out of Addison next week.

update: I'm outties, sorry guys. Gotta check out of Addison, for good actually, before the weekend, and head back to setup servers in Austin all weekend. Fun eh? But at least I'll be back home where there are lots o' hills and curves to test out the new AVS Sports!

So just how hard is changing the brake pads on a Stook? As a mechanical engineer, I possess the unfounded confidence to start just about any car related project, but often have to call in a consultant to pull it out (been a Project Manager for too long).

Regards,

Al
