Default Seibon v. VIS CF Hood

I'm trying to make a purchasing decision about a new carbon fiber hood for my S. I want the look of the J's Racing hood, but don't want to pay the high cost. On my dear departed MY00, I had a VIS Xtreme GT hood which was a J's clone. I thought it was pretty good, but I noticed some imperfections. The Seibon JS hood (also a J's Racing clone) is a bit more expensive (+$50) but I've heard from a dealer of both that there is no difference and the VIS might even be better. Both will cost me about $625-650 delivered (shipping is about $125 w/ insurance).

Any opinions?

P.S.: Since I went from Silverstone to Sebring silver and lost my hood, my daughters say that it looks like "a girls car" . Is that a compliment from 3 teenage girls, or are they just jerking with me.

Regards,

Al

Well I'd be willing to ask them myself but I'm betting it wasn't a compliment

To get back at them invite their best friends for a ride to make them jealous

Just ordered my Seibon JS hood from Evolution. Good price with the Group Buy and he had it in stock. I will advise the delivery, quality, fitment, etc. when things start to happen.

Regards,

Al

My hood arrived Wednesday (31-Jan), but BAX Global (Evolution/Seibon's shipper) tried to deliver @ 1:30 PM, despite my telling them no one would be at home until after 4:30PM.

I finally arranged delivery on Friday (02-Feb), but when I opened the box, the piece of the hood between to 2 vents was broken . I didn't accept delivery and advised Evolution.

They shipped another hood yesterday (05-Feb).

Other than being broken, the finish of the hood looked great. Hopeful the next one is in one piece.

Did they ship it directly from Japan? Gotta be careful about those freight forwarders, they pretty much don't care how your stuff gets there as long as it gets there some time.

Next time let me know if u want me to ship it for you.
