All you have to do is blow up the engine in your current car. Nothing to it

Having a job has drawbacks... I got a meeting rescheduled to Saturday on me.
A blown motor is surely worth the chance to yet again drive an S2000.

Unless, of course, you blew the motor in your OWN S2000. Surely no one would be so silly.

Bummer you're missing the last auto-x, though. You could always quit your job, I s'pose....

No, I don't think 8 runs on any street tire would tear it up unless you went out and did a 360 spin out on every single corner for all 8 laps. We ran my gf's brand new kumho 712's at the last event for 16 laps and we each had about 2-3 spins. You can hardly tell that we drove on them. Just make sure you have the proper inflation and you'll be fine.
Thanks for the info. My plan is to Totally Tear up my 225's at the event. And if they still have tread ill do some donuts for fun

But at the same time, if you've already got some older tires that you don't mind tearing up (the 225's) then why not tear those up... you will put some wear and tear into them... not to mention other possible misshaps (I got a screw right near the side wall on my rear tires my first time out)... Sure the 245's may give you some extra bite, but are you really going to need the extra bite the first time out there?

If it were me, I would tear up the older tires since I had them anyway... just my $0.02
He just asked me if 1 day of autocross would destroy his tire and the answers is no. If you have old tires you want to destroy or slide around on then that's perfectly fine too. I was just giving him the option of using his new ones without any problems. And i don't know why there would be any nails or screws out there.

Tis true... I don't know why a screw would be out there either but I rode with somebody else to lunch so I'm pretty sure I picked it up somewhere at the track... coulda been on the way there though I guess... It held for my last 4 runs (somebody told me about it at lunch) just fine though

There will be plenty of people with jacks there. But why do you want to raise the car (and screw up the alignment) right before racing it?
