One more thing... since this is your first autocross.... When you get signed in, ask for an instructor to ride along with you for a couple of runs. It will really make a difference.

You won't scratch the paint, I center punched a cone in the S at 85 MPH at the last BMWCCA autocross and it left a nice black rubber mark but it came right off with some rubbing alcohol and a gentle scrub.

There's a motorcycle parts store in carrollton/farmers branch off of I35 near I think valwood/valley view. They have some cheap helmets that will work for around 50 bucks. Just make sure it's DOT rated either M or SA (preferred) and 2000 or 2005 classification.
Just picked up my helmet today....brand new(RIDEX) for only $30 and it's DOT rated opened face So, i am set to go!

I got it from this guy that used to owned a motorcycle shop, but i guess he went out of business. Anyway, he still have two or three Ridex opened face helmets left. I think it's size medium and XL(white) and it's brand new still in the box. Oh, and several full face helmet also.

I think he say that he used to sell the Ridex for $130 or $150 a piece.

I believed so. It's say " helmet meet or exceed DOT certification. FMVSS218 certified".

That is not an SA rated helmet. If it is SA rated it will have a tag inside or on the outside that says SA2000 or SA2005. I am not sure on the clubs policy but, most motorsports organizations require an SA rated helmet. No big deal though, the club has plenty of loaner helmets you can use.
