It's sad when 95 degrees sounds cool.

Forecast for Mineral Wells tomorrow (per weather.com) is for a high of 96F. The rain chances are very slim, but seems like we'll get some cloud cover at any rate. That's a big improvement over today...high of 105F and clear
If you haven't started already...drink LOTS of water today and bring LOTS of water & ice with you. A nice shade hat and/or umbrella is highly recommended and sunscreen of course. The heat is manageable if you take care of yourself and obey the warning signs of sickness.

Well the S will be sitting this one out, still have a squeak and a suspicious torn rear upper control arm bushings plus it's not properly aligned after the 02 coilover install so we're gonna give the RX8 a try on the 225 all seasons should be interesting.

We had a heat-related issue after the last SCCA event at Mineral Wells.
I provided a bottle of water and a cold wet towel. After a few minutes in the shade of his car, the young man was able to seek comfort and AC at Subway on his way home.
I saw him the next weekend at Pennington in a BLACK t-shirt and suggested he change. He did.
Drink early and drink often. By the time you think you are thirsty, you are way behind in this heat.

Autocross turned out great. It was a bit wet in the morning, but definitely driveable. Afternoon was perfect, overcast the whole morning and afternoon, so heat wasn't really a factor.
Course was very fluid and fast, great sweepers, good opportunities to practice your MAD DRIFT SKILZ.
Anyway, thanks to all who helped put on this event. I had a great time.

Thanks everyone... a really fun day (for those who realized that the rain was temporary.)
It was a very fun course and to get to run clockwise a new one for me. Looking forward to the next one.
