Since we're trying to appease the rain gods... Here's some great wet fun! Kudos, Azenis!

Right-click, save as, etc. Windows Media Player required. Sorry, Mac guys.

Cool video. I was gripping my chair while watching that! There was alot of puddles - I assume that was Mineral Wells? Was there anymore damage to cars operatring in the rain with the puddles by hidden debris?

Yup. Mineral Wells. I had 4 morning runs in the dry on that course. I think that was my 2nd run in the rain, so the course was "clear" so long as no one strayed off into the weeds. The most exciting moment on all my wet runs that afternoon occurred heading west (toward the fence on the south end of the field) when the Azenises hydroplaned near the top of 2nd gear. You'll notice in the video how the car isn't going toward the gate one moment and then magically is the next. Fun stuff.

I don't think anyone with cold air braved the wet... Couple Miatas, couple stock-ish S2K's and a rental Oldsmobile... But... in the words of Dick Vitale, "It's water inJECTION, Babyyyy!"

That was a fun day. Many of the wet times were better than the earlier dry runs until the ponding started. I had no trouble with my CAI. BTW, the video runs just fine on a Mac.

****UPDATE****

Just wanted to give everyone the heads up that this event will run rain or shine. We are making preparations for alternate timing systems in case of rain.

Basically, if we don't make this event we will loose 1 in the schedule. Plus, it never hurts to gain some experience driving in the wet.

What do the corner workers do in the rain? It is a little spooky to be out there when the rain can make is so that you don't really know where a car is likely to go.

I notice that in the rain pics someone posted that I don't see a corner worker one.

Um, they get wet!

I guess we'll see who the real diahards are not by who shows up to drive, but who the corner workers are
