Not really. I just can't see driving all the way to Mineral Wells on shaved Victoracers in that kind of weather. I'll use the time instead to install my Nissan differential conversion.

Can we get someone to post early Saturday morning and let us know one way or another? I've got a 2 hour drive to get out there, so if someone could make a "Go/No Go" call early Saturday that would be great.

I'm planning to come... I seem to have faster times when it's wet.

Umm... they're going to make the call tomorrow at noon...

It's one thing to talk about bundling up and working in freezing rain when it is 80 degrees outside and another to actually do it.
I may not be attending this event, but it isn't the weather that's stopping me. I've attended plenty of autocrosses in similar weather... that's why I was offering up the advice from lessons I've learned in the past.

I'll admit I'm a wuss. Life is too short to spend ANY of it cold & miserable. Now if someone were to bring a portable hot tub for each corner station . . .
Haha, we got a big NO for a lawnchair and patio umbrella so i'm pretty sure the hottub is out as well

I'm out too. Not interested in driving from Austin in the wet pre-dawn hours. Despite the forcast, temps it will be below freezing along my route out in the hills. My RA-1s were never very good unless the pavement was broiling and my shaved Victoracers probably won't heat up much better.
For that matter my Kumho MX set feels like marbles on cold dry streets these days.
Of course it will be near 80 today and Thursday in Austin.

It's 80-something right now here in Dallas, and tomorrow looks like it will be the same. Damn, it feels nice.

Too bad there might be a layer of ice covering everything out west Friday night / Saturday morning. Not exactly what I want to drive an S2000 through in pre-dawn hours with summer performance tires. From what I recall, even if the ground is still warm if there's enough frozen precip to generate a layer of ice, it'll stick around for a good while.

I do think it would be fun on-site, however.

**POSTPONED**

Due to an increase in the prediction for freezing rain and ice for the weekend of February 18th the Director's have postponed Autocross #1. The next available date at Mineral Wells is March 18th. So, mark you calendars and we'll post up new registration info for #1 again in a week or two. Sure hope we can have all those S2000's sign up again.

That's the first day of my new set of classes when I'm back to Saturday classes. Oh well. Have fun!
