Default Recommended place to get new tires?

Anybody have any shops around the area that they recommend? I have aftermarket rims and I dont want the rims to get scratched up, anybody have any good experiences around here? Also which discount tire does price matching wiht tire rack? All of them?

Thanks

I've had good experiences with NTB in Lewisville, at Corporate - talk to Willie, the manager.
I've also had great luck with Discount Tire in Flower Mound, talk to Todd Eaddy, their manager.
I'll probably be using Discount Tire in the future, they were more willing to match TireRack's prices, installation was done quickly and top notch, and Todd manages to squeeze autocrossers as good a deal on labor as he can. Also, Todd seemed to be very knowledgable about what works/what doesn't ....

Just bought 2 new rear S-02's for my stock rims at Discount Tire in Hurst/Bedford (talk to Rob @ 817-540-3109). I paid $161 ea. including mount and balance; beating Tire Rack. They had to order them (1 week) but I'm happy.

Regards,

Al

Discount Tire off Green Oaks in Arlington (between Collins and 360). Upon recommendation from this forum I went in and in 10 minutes had bought a set of Kumh0 711s- they matched Tire Rack dollar for dollar (on my word) and charged me tax + $5/corner for mounting, balancing, and Road Hazard. On top of that there was no one there- they are usually not busy. I quit going to the Bedford one on Harwood because I would have to wait an hour to talk to someone, then it would take at least 1-2 hours to have the work done. They are also starting to not match Tire Rack very well (charge for shipping, M&B, etc.).

Yeah, I put on a pair of Yokohama AVS ES100 (size 245/45ZR16). They were half the price of S-02's and were promoted as being better in the rain. These claims are both true, but you definitely give up some dry pavement traction.

I could feel the difference immediately when I pulled off the Yokos and slapped on the S-02's. [Note: I have 2 sets of OEM wheels. I plan on swapping them out everytime a track event comes around. Save the costly rubber for Mineral Wells.]

Regards,

Al
