What happens if the weather is bad this coming weekend? Is this a rain or shine event?

Sounds like gernby is diving right back into the deep end.
Greg, you might check out the rules for the new SCCA STR (Street Touring R) class. The S2000 is going to end up being one of the dominant cars in the class, imho, and it looks like there are quite a few STR cars in development in this Region for next season.
STR is part of the Street Touring prep category (ST, STS, STX, STR, and STU) and it allows a lot of the common mods like intake, header, exhaust, ecu retune, high flow cat, springs, shocks, sway bars, wheels, etc., but mandates 140-treadwear or greater street tires. The ST* category is the fastest growing category in SCCA autocrossing, and 3 of the five biggest classes at Nationals this year were ST* classes.
I know you've been away for a few years, but I think you'll find that the latest crop of max performance street tires are every bit as fast as R comps were four or five years ago... and they last a LOT longer.
Wish I could make it out for this one, but I'll be at MSR. Y'all have fun!

It's hard to say how much autocrossing I'll do, but I really don't think I'll ever do another SCCA event. The last one I did was in 1995, and I HATED how little seat time I got. Is it about 2 minutes of driving per event now?
What I really want to do is some HPDE's at MSR.
