Good tips Iain. I figured that track pads would clean up the rotors much faster than the OEM pads, but I don't know if I want to wait until the next event to try it.

I used XP10/XP8 that I bought from mxt_77 on street/auto-x/track and I had no issues. I agree that it's hard on rotors when cold but grips like a champ when it gets warm. I had no issues using those pads infact I got spoiled by the XP10/8 combo and now it's getting hard used to street pads as they don't grip nearly as much.

Although I won't use XP10/8 on street anymore as I think it's an overkill and it's too expensive to drive 50 miles one way to work. I am using the pads that came with the car when I bought it for street and it worked great at the autox. I can't figure out for my life what those blank pads are...they stop like crazy once they are warm which makes me believe they are not stock but I would never find out.

On the other hand, got another set of XP10/8 for MSR next month

XP10 works even for autocross? I'm a big fan of the Panther Plus (aka AX6 these days) for autocross, but I'm surprised to hear that such a high-temp pad works at autocross temps.
They have a huge amount of initial bite even at low temps. Next time you make it out to an autocross come and take a ride in my car. Seeing/feeling is believing.

Do you have any issues driving the XP10's to and from the track?

I 100% agree w/ Iain. I also use my Carbotechs on the street, though probably not a wise thing b/c of wear - and I've never had a problem with them to / from the track.

These are just AWESOME pads. You will not regret getting them Greg.

Now granted, once I find dust/noise-free pads that don't fade and last 20,000miles, I'm all over that...until then

I usually swap pads at the event site when I swap tires. However, I've had no problems using the XP10s driving to and from events on the occasions that I've driven the car out already set up.

I've even daily driven them for a week before when I had events on back-to-back weekends and I was too lazy to swap back to the street setup in between.

That looked like a great run, and was clearly fast. However, something about the sound made it seem slow. Where was the mic?

Oh and my fastest run I didn't make the video since timer issues made me turn camera off and then on and off and on...I turned it off before run and turned it on after my lap FTMFL! LOL

Greg, the mic is on the camera, and the camera is mounted to the windshield with a suction cup mount. Dunno why it doesn't "sound" fast to you?

Zo, here's a direct link to my video: linkie
