I wont deny that AP2 gearing has an advantage at the Auto-x...but Dave knows not to talk crap.....or he will get it right back again when we go to the track .
Will be good to be last of the 4 of us at the 3.1, as it was with the 1.7. Unless I can push Zo back to 4th

That is why I am talking the crap for him. As he can routinely kick my behind without much effort.

On Saturday's course, I had to shift to 3rd 5 times per run. Looking at my FlashPro datalogs, Jerrett was just staying in 3rd through a lot of the course, but he shifted to 3rd 5 times on his last run (his fastest). I forgot to ask Jerrett if he had any issues shifting to 3rd, but I sure did. It seemed that once the transmission got hot, I couldn't get it into 3rd very easily. I wound up just coasting down a few of those long straights.

I think the AP1 gearing is WAY better for autocrossing than the AP2 gearing. A stock AP2 drives like an AP1 with 4.77's, which is way too short for autocrossing on most courses IMHO. The low 2nd gear make the rear end twitchy, and you have to shift to 3rd gear a LOT.

I would agree with you on the gearing for some of the autocrosses, but I didnt feel like I was at any sort of disadvantage gearing wise with this course.

I had a hard time getting into third on a few runs and I know Zo did as well.

I looked back at the datalog for Jerrett's fastest run, and it looks like he would have only needed 3rd gear ONCE with AP1 gearing and an AP1 rev limit. The other 4 times he used 3rd would have just been PERFECT for kissing the AP1 rev limiter before hitting the brakes.
