Not so sure about that, Ryan. Heck, not even sure what my chances are of winning the S2000 non-R class?

Anyone in S2000 class consistently fast? We can get a little trash talking in here for fun.
Where is Egothreat? She is usually fast, aslong as she has her tire "issues" sorted out... Let Clovis drive your car...He is fast too.

QUICKAG,

I'd leave the factory fill break-in oil in there for the full 3K mile interval. Bring some dyno oil to top-off if necessary. The break-in oil has a healthy dose of molybdenium in there, so you shouldn't have any problems.

You can switch to synthetic on your first change. I'll attempt to avoid hijacking this thread into an oil thread (there are countless ones on here, as you know), but I'd use Amsoil over Mobil 1. The cost is marginally more, but the protection is better. I'd be happy to discuss on Sat. or offline.

Cheers,
Ryan
P.S. - It's after 5pm on a Friday. Beer time!

Not to interrupt you oil discussion, but to get to MW have any of you in the far north east corner of the "metroplex" tried hwy 380 from McKinney to Denton to Decatur then FR51 to Weatherford as an alternate to going through Dallas and Fort Worth? Or have the shopping centers already made it that far?

I'll have to miss this one, I'm out in Maine on vacation right now. By the way the S got hit the other night while I was on the way home from DFW at about 3AM. Looks like a new passenger fr fender/liner, fr bumper cover & probably a headlight assembly. Off to Stuart's when I get home.

Have fun!

Interesting idea Gregg. 380 from McKinney to Denton is pretty wide open. There is major construction in Denton on 380 but one could take the loop around town to the North. From Denton to Decatur there always seem to be hords of gravel trucks and most of it is two lane blacktop. I have never driven the last stretch so I don't know about that.

I may try it simply because it would be a more scenic and interesting drive. Of course there won't be much to see at 6:00am.

I don't know. 6:00am is pretty early. I like putting it on cruise control and not having to think about which was to go.

I was also wondering how you guys break the run groups down with such big miata/s2000 groups? Also are you required to work corners for both morning/afternoon events.

Lastly will any bottled water be provided on site as part of the registration fee like the BMWCCA does?

BYOW....Any time you are not running you are working... S2000 and S2000R Miata and MiataR From my memory they do 8 cars per heat. Don't worry it is alot of fun and well organized everybody gets 8 runs + fun runs at the end of the day if you're willing to help cleanup. Clovis or someone will have to step in here as I am not one of the organizers.

Yep...like Candy said be sure to bring your own water. This is how things have worked in the past.

Due to the largeer number of S2000s and Miatas they usually split the field into S2000/Miata and Other. It depends on the actual numbers. Both groups will split between driving and working assignments for both the morning and afternoon runs.

Within each drive group cars will be split up into smaller groups of about 8 cars and they will get to do their four runs. Then the next 8 or so get theirs. After everyone gets their four runs then they will switch workers and drivers for the same process.

There is usually a 1 hour break for lunch and then it is all repeated. After it's all done we usually have fun runs that are not timed with no course workers to shag cones. Anyone that takes advantage of fun runs is expected to help with course clean up.
