oil level is good, spark plugs look fine. Basically it feels like there is no power above 6k. around 8500 it starts to sputter. afc neo sensor check shows vtec engaging when it's suppose to, but it feels like theres no power. Anyone got any ideas? It's been like this for a few weeks. Havent thought much of it cause i dont vtec that much, but did alot of pulls today and it just feels like its dead. Plannin on doin compression test later this week. Below 6k the car feels good and strong like it always has. Just did a oil change last night. If anyone has an ideas let me know.

Can you normally hear the change in intake noise when VTEC engages? If you have the stock intake, remove the air box lid so that it will be easier to hear (or not).

really cant hear any change in noise...its just loud. I think i've read that if the solenoid goes out it doesnt pop a check engine light. Anyway to check if it's working correctly?

There's probably a test procedure in the shop manual, which should be in every S2000 enthusiast's garage.
