Kntrider,

Is my car parked kinda like the picture?

Had to take the Suzuka to the garage early today because of Mother Nature's angry disposition!!!!

Where are you located?

Be careful in Frisco without a front plate. The "tax" there is $190.

Carry mine behind the passenger's seat as well. Some idiot broke my holder ... and no I didn't get a good look at myself, I mean whomever, when it happened

I got two tickets in one week for expired inspection sticker, but I have never gotten a ticket for no front plate.

I've been ticketed in Euless but the cop never said a thing about the front plate being missing.
The two times I've written to my state legislator asking that the ridiculous law be repealed, I've received the same canned reponse- they aren't interested. I always vote against the jerk.
It's not just sports cars not displaying the plate. If you look around probably 25-30% of TX cars don't display them. They vote with their cars.
For OUTLAW442: take it to the racetrack to enjoy high performance. I don't want you plowing your truck at 107 mph on the fwy into a car with my granddaughter in it. I'd take that VERY personal. That's the kind of driving that produces road rage, and we have far too much of that here already.

How miuch do they charge for the tickets? As you can imagine, my inspection sticker expired in 2003.

It depends on the city. Arlington was around $80.

*edit*

After thinking about my post, I want to state that there is no illegal activity going on here.

If anyone in the DFW area has a turbo system and has trouble passing emissions tests, PM me and I can provide help, "legally". And for legal purposes, refer to my signature below.

Thanks, but no thanks. I'll see if I can get someone to sniff my exhaust.

How difficult would it be to just disable the turbo and plug the OEM ECU back in long enough to get it inspected?

I would have to also remove the 750 cc injectors and change out the injector clips. Also, with head work and less than 9:1 compression, I don't know how that would affect the stock ecu.

Hmmm... It seems like you could adjust the boost controller to a level that would be acceptable for the OEM ECU...
