I've been stopped three times since I bought the S2000 and they haven't even mentioned the front plate not being there. I keep it behind the passenger seat "just in case".

First time I was speeding... gave me a warning. Second time speeding, also a warning. Third time I had expired inspection and tags (I'm a lazy, procrastinating idiot) and while he had me pulled over I forgot to turn of my headlights when I turned the car off and when I went to turn on the car again my battery was completely dead. The officer went back to the station and came back with jumper cables he had in his personal truck and gave me a jump start. Best experience I have ever had with a cop.

Jeesh ... I was afraid I was the only scofflaw here. I grew up in Kansas, which is a rear tag only state (admittedly, many years ago.) I still can't get used to the front tag. Still, the two Acuras have them on. I decided to see what might happen with the S2k with no front tag, and after two years ... no issues. I too carry the "spare" behind the passenger seat.

Gotta ask - for those that carry the front plate with them, why? Am guessing pulling out to prove you have it isn't gonna get you far.

A officer once asked me what those two little bumps on my bumper was(liscene plate hole cover thingys) and I told him just that and he never said a word about them. I never ran a front plate on my S and after almost 2 yrs I never got pulled over for it.

Be careful in Frisco without a front plate. The "tax" there is $190.

EasyMark ... I don't know if having the extra tag will help or not. My plan has been to plead me not having any bracket ... "but look officer, here's my tag." I have no idea if it would work ... hope to never find out.

First thing i do with any car once it gets home is take the front plate off, looks soo ugly. got pulled over once in my 240 cuz my headlights which i had for 5 years gave me a 'fix it ticket' didn't say anythng about the front plate.

oh and 60N5.5 i see your car all the time by the post office, it's always nice and shiny.
