New 04 S2K owners...
Have any of you put a deposit down on an 04 S2K?
If so, what dealership did you use, who was your salesperson?
What deal did you get? How much haggling did you do?
Did you have a trade in?
I'm READY to buy a red 04, but want to see what you've heard going on at the dealerships.

A good piece of advice is to look for the car via the internet, or just call the dealer and ask to talk to the internet sales manager. They are typically paid a flat fee and not standard comission, and they also tend to be the "newbies" to the organization. Read: more manipulable and easier to get a good deal out of.
I have NO idea what dealers are trying to mark up the 04 to. I would think the 03's could be had cheaper and I PERSONALLY think that it is a better car. Then again, I have an '01 with the F20C.

I put a deposit down on a 04, but I'm going to get it back. Too much shit from the wife and I really don't want to give up my BMW. In a year I'll pick up a 05 and have an S and my BMW.
I talked to Dean Oberg over at John Eagle. He is part of their internet sales. He qouted $1500 over invoice which he guesstimated to be around $32k when you add the $600 difference betwen 03-04. Go talk to him. No haggling, No pressue. Typical sales guys and a little standoffish, but my friend bought a car from him with no problems.
John Eagle doesn't have any 03s on the lot at this time so you'll have to have them do a dealer trade or go to a different dealer who still has some 03s if you want a 03.

I know what you're saying. There's a certain balance you have to maintain between the things that you want/need to keep you happy now vs. the things that you want/need to keep you happy in the future. I love the S2000, but when I consider the possible opportunities that I could have if I sell it and use that cash for something else, I just keep second-guessing myself.
Looking back, I should have held on to the Prelude for another year and stockpiled some cash before buying the S2000. But, as they say, hindsight is 20/20. Anyway... I'm taking this thread way off-topic (sorry 'bout that)...
but if anyone wants my 03, I'd still consider offers. (I'm pretty sure that the price I would require to sell it is higher than anyone would offer me anyway).

Yeah, yeah... don't remind me.
Even without taking that into account, the price KBB said I should look for is lower than I want, so I doubt anyone would offer me enough to convince me to sell it. But, it's still on the table... just in case.
